This 13S anti-pilling core-spun yarn is produced on vortex spinning (MVS) machines: a PBT elastic filament core is wrapped by a sheath of 40% viscose, 27% acrylic and 14% nylon. The vortex-wrapped structure holds the surface fibres tightly and keeps hairiness low- the main reason the yarn pills far less than ring-spun yarn of the same count. The core carries the load, adding tensile strength and stable, repeatable stretch. At 13S the yarn knits into a light-to-medium weight fabric with good air permeability: airy enough for spring and summer tops, substantial enough for autumn layering and light winter knits. It runs cleanly on circular, flat and seamless machines and takes dyeing and finishing without surface fuzzing.
